Leonard on toiminut jo puolen vuosikymmentä erilaisissa tehtävissä yritysvastuun teemojen parissa. Hän on Azets Insight Oy:n vastuullisuuskonsultti ja tukee Azetsin asiakkaita EU:n vihreässä siirtymässä. Leonard tutkii myös yritysten kestävyysraportoinnin kehitystä, raportointiprosesseja ja ammatti-identiteettiä Oulun Kauppakorkeakoulussa väitöskirjatutkijana. Ennen väitöskirjaa, Leonard tutki hiilen sisäisen hinnan määrittämissä Kone-yhtiössä. Hän vaikuttaa myös pohjoismaisen NSRS-vastuullisuusstandardin hallituksessa ja toimii Suomen Taloushallintoliiton Kestävyysraportoinnin asiantuntijaryhmän puheenjohtajana.
